Second series in four volumes. Leather spines and corners, marbled boards. Drawn by Kenny Meadows, Engraved by Orrin Smith. Ex-library set with normal markings internally, bookplates and the like. Some repairs to joints. Volume 4 has front board LOOSE, but still present. Uneven fading and scuffing to covers - some chips. Volume 3 front board is nearly detached. Foxing and browning to pages throughout. A good reading set only.

Childrens Illustrated Classics series. 2 classics on one volume. Blue and cream decorated cloth with matching endpapers. Colour plates and b/w text illustrations Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is edge-creased with a few tears and chips; repaired to verso with tape; faded to spine; minimal loss.
Green pictorial cloth with gilt titles and decorations to spine and front. Grey and white patterned endpapers. B/w illustrations. All edges gilt. 276 pages plus 14 page booklist to rear. Spine and corners bumped and worn. 'Heffer' and 'Cambridge' written in ink beside a small bookseller' label to the front pastedown. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. Couple of joints are cracked. Browning to endpapers. Foxing to some pages including prelims and frontis tiissue guard.

Page edges are 'scraggy', where some pages have been uncut - but have been 'cut', but not neatly - some tears to these pages.
