Flying Adventures For Young Pilots. Large format. Blue cloth with dark blue titles and vigette of a plane to front cover. Eight coloured plates by Bradshaw, other illustrations by Leigh. Johns story is "The Ace of Spades". Spine and corners bumped. Spine faded and foxed. Some light staining to covers. Front joint cracked. Contents browned but clean.
A collection of stories edited by W.E. Johns, including 4 stories by him. Pictorial boards. 4 b/w plates, 6 colour plates plus other b/w illustrations. 248 pages. Covers are worn, with some chipping and loss of paper; cloth showing through. Some foxing and browning to pages.
First annual in the series. Burgundy boards, black titles. Colour and two-tone illustrations. First story "Operation Outback" by Eric Leyland. W.E. Johns story is 'The Man Who Came By Night'. Price-cut wrapper is edge-worn and creased with some nicks and scuffs.
A Steeley Story. Blue cloth with black title to spine. 252 pages. Front cover and spine very damp-marked and stained. Ink stamps and numbers to front endpaper/pastedown. Couple of corner tip loss to pages. Grubby outer page edge marks. Still a good reading copy.

Small tear to bottom corner of front endpaper. Also small tape mark. Wrapper has a few closed edge-tears with slight loss and tape strengthening to edges.

Contained in 2nd impression wrapper (only difference from 1st is rear panel book titles). Wrapper has 2cm loss to base of spine and 3 to 7mm loss from top of spine, loss has been diguised by photocopy loosely laid underneath. Front flap has had price-cut - 2cm diameter hole. Rare to find any copy in a dustwrapper.
