A collection of stories edited by W.E. Johns, including 3 stories by him. Pictorial boards. 4 b/w plates, 6 colour plates plus other b/w illustrations. 248 pages. Bumping and chipping to corners and top and tail of spine. Grubby marks to covers. Foxing.
Famous Biggles story told in pictures. Small square format. Card wraps. Two tone illustrations throughout. Corners and cover edges rubbed. A couple of small marks to rear cover. Contents very good.
Red cloth spine. Pictorial front board shows aircraft. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. 5 stories and 1 colour plates by Johns. Front cover is a bit bowed. Spine has a few inch split to one side, with some fraying to cloth; also spotted. Wear and scuffing to covers. Front joint is cracked. Erased doodle to front endpaper, which also has margin tear. Foxing and browning to outer page edges and margins. Plates are present. A reading copy. Printers code is 37.783.

Brown cloth, gilt title to spine, colour frontis. A thrilling tale of the ranches and deserts of Arizona. Gilt to spine has faded., Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Inscription in ink (partially erased, with some surface paper damage) to front endpaper. Wrapper is creased with tears and chips; bottom 2-3" of spine are torn, with some loss. Grubby marks to rear panel.
Blue cloth, black title to spine. No catalogue to rear. 32 numbered illustrations/photos. Some wear and a little chipping to cloth at top and tail of spine. Foxing to outer page edges.
A story of Combined Operations. Red cloth, black titles and vignette to front cover. Colour frontispiece, 10 other b/w illustrations. 7.5 x 5". 192 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Front joint is cracked (between front free-endpaper and half-title). A few small foxspots else contents clean. Dustwrapper is grubby (especially to spine) and is edge-worn with small closed tears.

Johns story is "The Ace of Spades". Spine is bumped and faded with browning. Front cover is a bit bowed, with fading to edges. Rear cover also has fading to edges. Page browning.
By "Flight-Lieutenant". Red cloth spine with black title, pictorial front cover showing bi-plane and ship. 4 colour and 4 b/w plates. 248 pages. Wear to cover edges. Some scuffs to covers. Foxing and page browning. One B/w plate is MISSING.
