Boards clean. Browning and foxing to text block. Minor tape marks to endpapers. Name stamped in ink to lower edge of half-title page. Small closed tear (no loss) to top edge of half-title page. Frontis and title page affected by damp foxing. Tiny pinhole to title page. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is clean with minor scuff to lower front panel, publisher's laminate has been removed leaving glue marks to verso not visible to front. Overall, a presentable copy.

All volumes are first editions in this formt dated from 1983 through to 1990. Some minor marks to boards. Text blocks lightly browned. Volume III the title to the spine is in silver foil and not gilt although the borders to front boards are gilt. Contained in publisher's slipcases in VG condition, slight fading at open edges, one volume is worn at open corners and starting to split. Overall, a decnet set.

Contained in publisher's slipcase which is shelf-scuffed and has a small worn patch to one side, foxing/damp to inside of slipcase. Slipcase does give the impression of being just a little too large width-ways for the books... unsure if this set is the original set for the box.
