Text block browned. Blue pictorial dustwrapper is edge-rubbed, scuffed, closed tear to top rear edge of spine.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Wayside and Woodland Series. Burgundy cloth, gilt titles and fly vignette to front. Pink pictorial endpapers. Colour & b/w illustrations. 383 pages including index. A few small marks to boards. Gilt is still bright. Text block browned. A few scattered foxspots to contents and a few grubby marks e.g. page 15 (see photo). Contents generally very nice. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-rubbed, lightly faded to spine, lightly scuffed, front flap has had tape on it at some point which has stained the flap vertically with some loss of surface paper.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
The first New Naturalist Monograph on a single species of bird. 11 b/w photographs taken by the author. Learned bibliography supports this splendid study. 26 paintings by Edward Bradbury. 4 line drawings and 4 maps. Green cloth, gilt title to spine. Minimal bumping to spine. Neat name in ink to front fre-endpaper. Some foxing, slight browning and old tape marks to endpapers. Contained in a later dustwrapper (printed price 90p) which has old tape marks to flaps.

Large format. Brown cloth spine and rear cover with gilt title. Front cover is green with black/gilt drawings. The text of this edition is taken from the 1789 edition and includes the first part only, with minor emendations. The additional two letters 'Timothy the Tortoise to Miss Hecky Mulso' and 'On the Sense of Hearing in Fishes', were first published in the 1877 edition of 'The Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne', edited by Thomas Bell, 2 vols, published by John Van Voorst. Exquisite full page colour illustrations. A beautiful edition! One small spot to outer page edges. Slip case is a bit better than very good - a few light marks and scuffs.
