Dugdale Society Vol. 54. Edited by Jens Rohrkasten. The General Eyre was held by itinerant justices who had the right to hear all pleas arising in the county they were assigned to visit. They conducted an in-depth review of all judicial and administrative procedures in the county, correcting abuse of office by officials and ensuring that penalties were imposed on all those responsible for encroachments on royal rights. This volume contains an English translation of the sole surviving roll from the Warwickshire Eyre held between 5 June and 20 July 1262. ISBN: 9780852201077. Looks unread.
