'A gallery of delights designed for the amusement and instruction of the young with several hundred illustrations'. New Edition. Large format. Cloth spine with orange decorated boards. Hand-coloured illustrations. 32 pages (printed on one side only).
Covers are worn and scuffed. New endpapers. Frontis is MISSING! Light foxing and grubby fingermarks to pages. A decent copy of an early edition.

Told in prose and verse. Blue cloth with gilt title labels and vignettes in black decoration to front cover and embossed decoration to rear cover. Brown endpapers. 24 Full-page b/w illustrations with tissue-guards. 150 pages plus 2 page publication list.
Spine and corners bumped and worn. Some darkening to spine and cover edges. Gilt on spine dulled. Various marks to endpapers including tape residue, short pencil lines, remains of label and two small bookseller's labels, also fading to edges. Inscription to verso of frontis. Light foxing to prelims. All plates present, some creasing/marks to tissue guards.

Vol XLII. Containing the monthly parts for 1902. Cloth spine, pictorial front board shows a girl with her horse and a dog jumping up at her skirt. Colour frontis, b/w text illustrations throughout. 236 pages plus 20 page catalogue at rear.
Spine and corners bumped and worn. Small bump to bottom edge of rear board. Rear board is marked and scratched. Name and date to front endpaper and name in ink to verso. Pages browned. Contents clean.

Spine bumped, worn and browned. Some splits to cloth on either side of spine. Corners bumped and worn. Couple of marks to covers. Front and rear joints cracked showing some webbing beneath. Small label to rear pastedown. Dated inscription plus another name and date to verso of front endpaper. Foxing to prelims and last couple of pages. A little fingering otherwise contents generally clean.

Catalogue at rear dated 1879. Spine and corners bumped with slight wear. Spine darkened. Covers a little grubby with small black splash to front cover. Front joint and a couple of hinges cracked. First gathering is partially detached, holding by bottom staple. Endpapers slightly grubby with damp (?) marks to bottom. Some foxing and marks to contents including some pencil annotations.
