Laminated pictorial boards. Front cover has head and shoulders of Rupert with sea in the background. First story is Rupert and the Copper Bird. Small chips and top and tail of spine. Belongs to box is clean. NOT price-cut. Colouring contest is partially (neatly) coloured. Browning and some foxing to outer page edges. The odd margin mark.
Colour pictorial boards - Rupert at front of a huge snow scene. 1st story Rupert and Doctor Lion. 124 pages. 10 x 7 inches. Spine is damaged (split) and has been re-glued and taped; a small piece of loss; also browned. Bumping and wear to corners; some foxing to covers. Inscriptions in ink to verso of front endpaper and belongs to box. Price-cut. Margin loss to bottom margin of pages 51-52. Page edge browning with some foxing. Page corners are a bit creased.

Collectors numbered edition. Facsimile of the first Rupert annual (1936). Red/black pictorial cloth. Red, black and white illustrations throughout. A collectors item in itself. ISBN: 0850791499. Offset browning/yellowing, which looks a little like foxing to endpapers and first and last few pages of book, all in the same place. Rest of contents are excellent. This is copy No. 12192. Still has wrapper and original wrap around band which has a few browning marks; light wrinkling along a couple of edges. Original postal box is still present with some foxing/marks.
The last hardcover annual to be published during the war years and widely considered to be the best Rupert annual ever. Front cover shows Rupert holding a paddle and waving while Algy looks on from a little boat. First story Rupert and the Red Egg. 118 pages. Spine missing, edges rubbed & worn. Boards a little dull. Front joint cracked. Rear joint starting to crack. Name in belongs to box. Heavy pencil erased from verso of title page and also belongs to box. Page 77 has loss to lower margin but this does not affect the text. Contents browned and a little grubby. A good reading copy.
Glazed boards. Front cover shows Rupert with lantern, pulling a large sledge of holly. Magic painting pages. 115 pages. No facsimile produced for this year. Top 1-2" of spine are MISSING. Rest of spine has varying amounts of splitting to both sides. Corners are bumped with wear. Belongs to box has name erased. NOT price-cut. Grubby marks. Some doodles in places (e.g. front endpaper), some crayoning in, crayon also to Magic Paintings - which are DONE. Some creasing to pages and grubby marks. This is a WORKING copy ONLY!
