Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Cloth covers with swan design, black titles and borders. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations. 288 pages. Spine and corners slightly bumped. A few light finger marks to covers. Inscription in ink to front endpaper (dated 1942, although printed date of 1938 is on publisher page). Heavy foxing to page edge. Dustwrapper is worn to corners, has a small closed tear to top rear edge, is slightly scuffed to spine and has a small blue mark to rear panel. A very scarce, early reprint.

Rosemary Langford was born in Singapore but was sent to school in England. Just before she was due to return to school in the Autumn of 1939 she had to spend three weeks in hospital in Singapore. War was declared and Rosemary's mother said she could go to finishing school in Switzerland when the war was over. The author's last book. Green boards, gilt title to spine. ISBN: 0863910580. Some light page browning to pages internally.
