A few marks to rear board caused by old selotape bleeding. Light foxing/browning to text block. A few minor foxspots to prelims and endpapers. Else contents clean. Blue pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn and chipped, a few closed tears, slight wear to surface paper at front flap edge, rear panel is a little scuffed, tape marks to verso.

8 volume set in individual slipcases. Brown/maroon cloth, gilt titles and borders. Name & date in ink to top of front pastedowns, four digit number in ink to top corner of front endpapers. All volumes are first editions in this formt dated from 1983 through to 1990. Some minor marks to boards. Text blocks lightly browned. Volume III the title to the spine is in silver foil and not gilt although the borders to front boards are gilt. Contained in publisher's slipcases in VG condition, slight fading at open edges, one volume is worn at open corners and starting to split. Overall, a decnet set.

Red leather embossed spine, gilt titles, brown cloth covers. 1680 pages + 8 pages of advertisements. Colour and b/w plates. A hefty volume. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Some hinges pulled/cracked but binding still nice and tight. Slight musty smell to contents. Dustwrapper is worn and torn with repairs on verso, section of loss to top corner of rear panel. Exceptionally scarce in dustwrapper.
