Very large format. Green cloth boards, gilt title. Green ribbon ties. The Flower Plates from Robert Thornton's 'The Temple of Flora' are taken from the edition of 1980 copies published by The Folio Society in 2008. They are printed on Modigliani paper by Beacon Press, Uckfield, Sussex. 29 plates in total. All plates present and immaculate. Portfolio has a slight scuff to rear board (very minor).

Very large format. The first ever full-size facsimile of the greatest English florilegium. Quarter-bound in Nigerian goatskin, cloth sides. Front board printed and blocked with design by David Eccles from 'The Night-Blowing Cereus'. 232 pages with 9 preliminary monochrome plates, 5 preliminary colour plates and 29 flower illustrations. Text printed on felt-marked Modigliani Neve paper and plates printed on Modigliani Insize. Green ribbon marker. Coloured top edges. Book Size: 22.5" x 18.25". Commentary volume by Stephen Harris. Presented in solander box, bound in buckram. 128 pages. 12" x 8.25". Of the Limited edition of 1980 copies only 600 have been bound into book form. Due to the size of this book, if posted, it will need to be sent via courier. This is Copy No. 90. Also contains 2 beautiful colour plates in an envelope - for you to frame! Contained in original slip case that has bumping to a couple of corners and some scuff marks. This is a gorgeous item! This copy would make a wonderful gift. This book is VERY heavy and will be needed to be sent via courier.

Facsimile edition with introductory booklet in custom made clamshell box. 91 watercolour facsimiles from the Maria Sibylla Merian Collection in the British Museum. Maria Sibylla Merian was one of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries' great painters of plants and animals. Limited edition of 1000. A sturdy inner panel holds the commentary volume underneath. This is bound in green cloth and printed on high-quality white laid paper. Julie Harvey of the Entomology Library at the Natural History Museum has written a fascinating introduction to Merian's work, setting it in context and providing an overview of her life and times. Due to the size of this book, if posted, it will need to be sent via courier. Small scuff mark to top of rear board (minor). Else a beautiful copy. Copy No. 16 of 1000. Clam shell case is in fine condition. Contained in original packaging from the Folio Society - polystyrene (reinforced and repaired with brown tape) and cardboard box. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
