Some light spotting and fingering to page margins but generally contents clean.

Front joint is just starting to crack. Dustwrapper is slightly edge rubbed and a little grubby to rear panel.

Red boards, black titles and vignette to front. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. The case of the pirate U-Boat. Spine slightly bumped, light mark to centre of spine. Front free-endpaper has been neatly removed. Damage (and slight loss) to lower margins of pages 97 to 126. No loss of text. Price-cut wrapper is edge worn and slightly chipped with old tape repairs on verso (old glue marks showing on front flap), rear panel is slightly grubby.
