Foxing mainly to endpapers and page edges. Some fingering. Contained in a photocopy dustwrapper.

SIGNED by author with a short inscription to front endpaper. Spine and corners a little bumped. Spine lightly browned. Couple of marks to covers. Small address label to front pastedown. Pencil numbers and blue crayon mark to front endpapers. Several hinges cracked. Some foxing. Colour from boards. Some pale pink marks mostly to top of front endpaper and first few days where colour may have transferred from cover.

The man who lost his way was Noel Marsden, an ex-Commando officer and the place he lost it was almost at the gates of a decaying country house in Inverness. Black cloth with yellow title to spine. 192 pages. Ex-library with W.H. Smith Library label plus remains of another label and ink date stamps to front pastedown. Library address stamps to rear endpapers and last page of text. Spine and corners bumped. Front joint and a couple of hinges cracked. Small inner margin tears to several pages. Page 95/96 partially detached. Some page numbers ringed in blue ink and Browning to rear endpaper. Some light foxing and a few grubby marks but many pages are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped. Foxing to front flap. Slim piece of tape to very edge of flap. Rear panel is a little creased.

A 'King of the Commandos' Adventure. A desperate treasure hunt in siamese jungle, which began harmlessly enough as a fishing holiday in the Highlands of Scotland. Gimlet and 'Cub' Peters lead an expedition to vindicate a dead man's faith. Green cloth, colour frontis. 8 b/w illustrations. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. A small piece of label stuck to front endpaper. Wrapper is edge-creased with a few tears and chips; a little loss.

DOCTOR VANE ANSWERS THE CALL

Brilliant criminologist, Dr. Vane was not averse to using criminal methods to foil the enemies of his country... Blue cloth, black title to spine. 205 pages. Tiny bump to base of spine. Fading to top edges of covers/spine and bottom edge of spine. A few light marks to covers (splash marks?). Name in ink to front endpaper. Foxing and browning to endpapers. Just a few fox spots and an odd mark to contents. Dustwrapper has been laminated on both sides and underneath the edges, spine and half the panels have been covered in tape, now yellowed. Some small patches of surface paper damage to panels and spine.

Dark pink boards, gilt title and vignette to spine. 190 pages. A murder novel. Minimal bumping to spine. A couple of tiny black spots to covers. Yellowed tape marks to both sets of endpapers. A few words/numbers erased from front pastedown. Faint lines of browning to half-title and title page from tape which left marks on front endpapers. Contents otherwise clean. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn and chipped, small tear at top of spine had been repaired with tape on verso, tape no longer present. Spine possibly slightly faded.

Ink inscription to front pastedown. Foxing, mainly to text block. Frontis has pink vertical line, (printing error?). Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with some small pieces of loss from spine, ends of folds and top corner of front panel. Clear tape stuck to top of spine and in various places on verso to strengthen/repair. Spine browned, rear panel slightly grubby.

BIGGLES DOES SOME HOMEWORK

The final unfinished novel, never published before. On 21st June 1968 Captain W.E Johns sat down to continue writing his latest Biggles adventure, he was halfway through chapter 12 when tragically without warning he suffered a fatal heart attack. This is the first edition, limited to just 300 copies, of that unpublished novel. Appendix I includes some pages of notes found with the manuscript, Appendix II consists of a suggested chapter synopsis for the rest of the story. Appendix III adds a short passage of narrative that might possibly complete the book. The text of Biggles Does Some Homework and the notes in Appendix I are 100% genuine W.E.Johns material. The introduction and appendices II and III are by Wright and Schofield. Pictorial card wraps. B/w illustrations. Minimal rubbing to a couple of corners otherwise a fine copy. This is copy no. 44.
