Spine and corners bumped and rubbed, light rubbing to cover edges and a small dent to top edge of front cover. Inscription in ink to half title-page. Some foxing and light marks to page margins.
Black cloth, large pictorial onlay to front. Cream decorated endpapers. 9 colour plates. 308 pages. 9.5 x 7". Spine and corners bumped and worn. Dent to top edge of rear cover. Title to spine has faded. Rear cover is grugbby. There is loss to the corners of the pictorial onlay. Rear joint is cracked. Some light grubby fingermarks at page margins else contents clean.

Foxing and dampstaining to top edges throughout. Hinges pulled but tight. A working copy of the early work.

Top of spine and lower corners bumped, some wear to spine and corners. Pencil inscription and other pencil writing to both endpapers. Light foxing to text block. Text pages very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn, with a couple of tears and small pieces of loss. Small hole torn near centre of spine, silver library binding label stuck below. 2.5" tear to base of front fold, small hole to rear fold. Also slightly grubby with label residue on front panel.
