Some foxing to textblock and top edge of textblock a little dusty. Dustwrapper is foxed on verso, is slightly edge chipped with minimal loss and has a large tear to rear panel. There is a message from the publisher on the colophon page stating "the first impression of this edition of Cranford was published in 1940, and most of it was destroyed by enemy action".

Names in ink to top margin of title-page. Browning to title-page and last text page. Some small margin tears and some light marks to pages but generally contents clean.
