Comprising descriptive sketches of the scenery, antiquities, geology, and mining operations, in the upper dales of the rivers Tyne, Wear and Tees. Lead mining. Cloth boards with title label to spine. Colour map of the area to frontis. Boards unevenly faded, browned, and grubby, bumped at corners, spine edges fraying, title block obliterated. Front joint split, rear joint just starting to split. Front hinge between title page and frontis is split at top & tail. Pencil writing and erasure to front pastgedown, inscription in ink to free front endpaper. Endpapers are browned and grubby. Text block browned. Initials to title page. Foxing and some grubby marks throughout. Rear hinge split.
