Good condition. Two volumes. Full brown calf binding, red title labels to spine. Gilt titles to spine. B/w illustrations and maps, some fold-out.

Spines rebacked retaining original title-strips. Covers are very edge-worn and scuffed. New endpapers. Two names in ink to top margins of title-pages of both volumes (one name crossed out in each volume). Heavy foxing to contents and a musty (antiquarian) smell to contents. All plates are present. Fold-out map of Monmouthshire to volume 1 has been neatly repaired on verso with clear tape. Plan of Monmouth in volume 2 (pg292) has been neatly/professionally repaired and plan of Chepstow in volume 2 (pg357) has a small hole to it (not affecting any text or the illustration).
