Almost very good condition. Blue cloth with beautiful gilt illustration to front cover and highly decorated spine. 12 superb colour plates plus 16 black-and-red plates and numerous b/w text illustrations. Large format. All edges gilt.
Spine bumped and cloth faded but gilt remains fairly bright. Corners are bumped and rubbed. Couple of little bumps to board edges. Some marks to covers. Both joints are cracked showing webbing beneath but binding remains firm. Dated inscription in ink to half-title page. Foxing to endpapers and some pages otherwise contents are clean. Plates are all present and in very good condition.
