Slightly better than very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Annette had scholarship to M. Georges Reinholt's ballet school as well as a part in the dance scenes of a school. Then she is offered a Hollywood contract - should she accept? Yellow boards. Red titles to spine and vignette to front board. B/w photos. 151 pages.

SIGNED by author to front endpaper. Spine and corners are bumped. Pale browning to endpapers. Couple of small marks to page edges otherwise contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edgeworn with tear to top to spine. Top of panels are creased. Rear panel is grubby.

  • Annette considered herself the luckiest girl in London, though she was often homesick and always low in funds. Didn't she have a part in the dancing scenes of an important film and - far more important - didn't she have a scholarship to M. Georges Reinholt's ballet school?
  • The ballet-master made his pupils work like slaves, but they were devoted to him, especially Annette. Beneath her light-hearted manner, the girl from Northumberland hid a firm determination to be a great dancer, and she appreciated M. Georges' strict discipline. He thought his youngest student showed great promise, but he didn't tell her so. Instead, he shook his head and grumbled about her missing hours of practice by dancing at the film studio.
  • But the film didn't really interfere with her work, for Annette's interpretation of the role of the Little Match Girl won the competition for the Cecchetti Casket. She though she could never be happier. Then came the flattering offer of a Hollywood contract .
