Translated from the French by A.E. Johnson. 2nd issue. A few marks to covers. Corners are bumped. A little browning to spine; some fading to gilt. Vertical creasing to front endpaper and half-title page. Foxing and browning, mostly to prelims and outer page edges. A few margin marks. All plates present.

Translated from the French by A.E. Johnson. Spine bumped, worn and faded/browned, nicks to cloth at ends. Corners bumped and worn, damp staining to bottom corners. A few marks to covers including damage to gilt writing on front cover. Covers faded alongside spine. Red colour from covers to bottom corner of first and last few pages. A couple of hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Ink inscription and small bookseller's sticker to rear endpapers. Foxing throughout. All plates present, 2 have light corner creases.

Three volumes in slipcase: Ali Baba; The Ugly Duckling; The Sleeping Beauty. Large volumes (12.25 x 8"). Each volume is cloth bound with colour illustrations. Limited edition of 2500 copies. Copy no. 853. Ali Baba is SIGNED by Ardizzone and Ugly Duckling is SIGNED by Jackson, Hersholt and Schwartz. Each volume is slightly bumped and rubbed to spine, Ali Baba has a small nick to centre of spine. There are some light fingermarks to page margins but generally the contents are clean. The slipcase is worn and the spine of the slipcase is browned.

The Around the World Treasures: France. Collected and adapted from the original Perrault by David Stone. Foreward by Noel Streatfeild. Green blue mottled boards with darker green title blocks with gilt titles and vignettes. Patterned endpapers. Colour and b/w illustrations. 192 pages. Marks to top and bottom of boards. Front joint badly cracked showing webbing beneath. Prelims almost detached. Rear joint beginning to crack. Endpapers lightly browned. Ink mark to side of text block. Pencil scribbles to prelims. Small ink spot to one page. A little light foxing and a few marks to text block edge. Pictorial wrapper is edge worn and torn. Small area of loss to bottom of rear panel which has been untidily mended with pink card and white tape, Wrapper is browned. A few small white marks to top of front panel. Laminate is lifting in several places. Pencil scribble to front flap.
Translated from French by Michelle MacGrath. Also contains story called The Fairy. Large format 11.75 x 9". Glazed pictorial boards. Colour illustrations. Creasing and bubbles to laminate on covers. Lower corners creased. Spine bumped and faded. Two small numbers stamped on verso of last text page. Contents generally clean but have slight musty smell.

Light foxing to covers and to page edges. Contained in original slipcase which is edge worn and browned to spine and edges, tear to one edge. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
