Good condition in a good dustwrapper. Pyramid edition. Blue cloth, black titles. Vignette of bi-plane over pyramids on front cover and spine. Colour frontis. No b/w illustrations in this edition.

Spine is damaged: split ALL way down middle; appears to have been partially repaired with tape/glue at one time; small pieces missing from top and tail. Browning to cover edges. List of illustrations page is MISSING - most likely omitted by publisher. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Browning. Some foxing to pages and outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with edge-tears and chips; loss to top of spine and a few corners and edges. Fading to wrapper spine and edges. Book states printed in 1935; possibly later dustwrapper, as last title is 'Biggles Flies West' (1937).

  • Biggles goes undercover and joins the spy world in Palestine. Mistaken for another whilst on leave in London, Biggles reports the confusion to Headquarters. To his chagrin they 'encourage' him to take the place of his doppelganger and work for the Germans as a spy whilst secretly reporting to the British. As always, Biggles succeeds admirably however there are a few close calls and nervous moments. Biggles has his first run in with Von Stalhein. Erich is working for German intelligence and comes close to unmasking Biggles on several occasions.
