Slight surface paper damage to title block on spine. Some uneven darkening to covers. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Foxing to contents but otherwise very good.

A fable of war and peace, the story of a people so transformed and disfigured by hate that at one point Steadman actually considered drawing masks on the to hide their ugliness. The idea was disgarded when he came to draw the enemy and found that he could not - the enemy didn't exist. Based on a story told to Steadman by Dimitri Sidjanski. Large format. White boards with black silhouette to front cover. Colour illustrations. Not paginated. ISBN: 0448229781. SIGNED by the artist to title-page with a small doodle to the cannon illustration. Small nibble patch to base of spine of book. Ink (biro) 2.00 written to top corner of front free-endpaper. Some loss to lower spine corner of front panel of wrapper (where it was nibbled). Dustwrapper is lightly browned, some lifting of laminate at lower edge of front panel.

Browning to endpapers. Small bookseller's label to rear pastedown. Pages 52 and 53 are stuck together along full length of outside edge for a depth of about 1". Rest of contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a little loss to top of spine and folds. Browned, mainly to spine and folds, also slightly grubby.
