Franklin Richardson Kendall was born into a family with great naval traditions and joined the P & O Head Office in London. He remained with P & O for 50 years before retiring. This is a collection of selected extracts from letters written to his mother during the tumultous times of change between 1858 and 1866. Large format. Cloth spine, cream cardwraps with black title to front. Tipped in colour frontis of the Ripon leaving Southampton. B/w photos. 89 pages. A few light creases to covers. Covers are a little grubby from handling. Contents clean.
