Almost very good condition. Containing about 2800 figures accurately coloured after nature. A New and Entirely revised edition with ancient and modern appellations, synonyms, localities, etc, etc. Three-quarter green leather binding with marbled paper boards. Raised bands to spine with gilt title and decorative tooling. 46 exquisite handcoloured plates. Top edge gilt.
Ex-library with usual stamps. Leather spine & corners rubbed and worn with some removal of surface leather. Couple of patches of loss of leather to base of spine. Small patch of surface paper loss to front board and front pastedown. Front joint split, rear joint starting to crack but binding is tight. Some joints pulled. A few scattered foxspots to contents. All plates present, plate 35 has small closed tear (no loss) to top margin. Overall, a nice copy.
