COMING DOWN THE WYE
Illustrated by Robert Gibbings
Published by J.M. Dent & Sons Ltd.. 1st. 1942
Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Two years close study, observation and journeying, during many months of which the author lived alone, but for a pony, in a semi-derelict mountain cottage at the source of the Wye. Possibly the most beautiful, romantic, and legend-haunted river in England or Wales. Blue cloth, gilt title and vignette. B/w wood engravings.
Corners bumped, a little wear to spine and corners. Small piece of label residue to front endpaper. Foxing, mainly to endpapers and page edges. Contents clean but lightly browned. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few chips and tears, a little loss from top of spine area. Spine slightly sunned, some browning to panels and folds, foxed on verso.
