Very good condition. Large folio format. 22 x 15 inches. Red leather spine and corners. Gilt title to spine. Green cloth covers. Contains 30 lithograph plates comprising: Tintern (4), Llangibby, Chepstow (4), Raglan (3), Monmouth, Goodrich (2), Grosmont, Skenfrith, Whitecastle, Llantony Abbey (3), Usk (2), Caerleon, Newport, Pen Y Coed, Penhow, Striguil, Llanvair & Caldicot. Believed to be only 100 copies printed. Due to the size of this book, if posted, it will need to be sent via courier and may incur extra shipping costs.
Leather spine and corners are worn with some fraying to corners. Front joint is cracked but still sound binding. Foxing throughout but heavier to prelims. Also included, loosely inserted, is a folding engraved map of Gloucestershire by Saxton Kip [c.1637] with relevant text leaves from Camden’s Britannia, repair to central fold with slight loss, few closed tears and fraying PLUS an engraved map of Monmouthshire by Pigot & Co. (hand-coloured in outline) PLUS two loosely inserted colour plates of Newport castle, c. 1784 by S. Hooper & c. 1830 by W. Westall.
