Nearly fine condition. 7 volumes dated 1842-1850, green leather spines and corners. Gilt titles, decorations and raised bands to spine. Marbled boards and endpapers. Top edges gilt. 432 beautiful plates of birds and their eggs, most hand-coloured.

All plates present as listed. Small marginal repairs to two index pages at rear of volume VII. Spines very slightly sunned. Corners very slightly bumped. Bookplate of Alington to front pastedowns. Light foxing to prelims. Tissue guards missing from four plates. Plates and contents beautifully bright and clean. A superb set.
