Green boards, black titles. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. 214 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Tiny dent to edge of front cover. Foxing to textblock and page margins. Dustwrapper is edge worn and slightly grubby with foxing on verso and circular drink rings to rear panel.

Green boards, black titles. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. 214 pages. Minimal bumping to spine. Small dents to top edges of covers. Name in blue biro to front free-endpaper. Looks like a free-endpaper at the rear of the book has been removed? Contents clean. Dustwrapper is slightly edge rubbed and a little grubby to rear panel.

- Bunter finds out that Lord Mauleverer had been invited by Vernon-Smith for a car ride - to begin at midnight. Mauly was kept in his bed by Harry Wharton and Bunter was able to take his place. By the time Vernon-Smith finds out who his companion is it is to late to send him back. But the joy-ride came to a sudden and calamitous end with a long and weary trudge back to school. Others were out that night, including a person known as Gentleman Charlie who had designs on a famous ruby in Hogben Grange. The two parties met and the situation became more complicated involving a number of missing articles, Thanks to the Bounder the missing ruby was found though Bunter as usual attempted to claim the credit.
