Very good condition in a good dustwrapper. Blue boards with black titles. Blue pictorial endpapers. B/w and two-colour illustrations. Colour frontis. The third Famous Five book.

Third impression. Spine slightly bumped, some browning to base of spine and edge of front cover. Heavy foxing. Some marks to rear endpapers. Dustwrapper is worn with loss and some damp spots, number '3' written to base of spine.

  • Third book in the Famous Five series
  • Julian, Dick and Anne arrive in Cornwall to stay with George for the holidays. They plan to spend time exploring Kirrin Island but their happiness is spoilt when Aunt Fanny falls ill and has to leave with Uncle Quentin to be treated in a far-off hospital. They are cared for by Aunt Fanny's temporary cook, Mrs Stick, who is accompanied by her husband and their ghastly son Edgar.
