Almost very good condition in a good dustwrapper. Pale blue boards, black titles. Plain endpapers. 32 full-page b/w drawings. The Famous Five's first adventure featuring a ruined castle, a wreck and buried treasure.

Spine and corners bumped and a little worn. Browning to top and bottom of spine. A few light marks to boards. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. A little surface paper damage and small mark to front endpaper. Some foxing and a few marks otherwise contents are generally clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some tears and creases and some areas of loss which has been cleverly disguised with photocopy beneath (not attached to the wrapper). Small tears to front and rear flap folds have been mended on verso with clear tape. Spine and rear panel are grubby. Light foxing to verso.
