Large format. Colour and b/w illustrations. The most authorative and comprehensive work ever published on the birds of Africa. Includes full bibliographies, acoustic references and indexes. Volumes I-VII, dated 1982 - 2004 (all 7 volumes are firsts). Edges of boards are rubbed. Text blocks a little grubby. Inscription in ink to front endpaper to volumes I-V. Volume I also has a small yellow price label to front endpaper. Contents are clean. Pictorial dustwrappers are faded to spines (as is usual for this set), and a little creased and scuffed, small nick to top of spine of volume III.
