Observer book no. 14. Revised edition. Describing 94 Larger Moths with 85 Illustrations in colour and 74 Half-Tones. Small format. Brown boards. ISBN: 0723215340. Minimal bumping to spine and a light vertical crease to centre of spine. A couple of small foxspots to front endpapers and top edge of textblock. Dustwrapper is lightly browned else bright and complete.

Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Observers book No. 3. Describing all the British species with 154 illustrations 68 of which are in full colour. Forward by N.D. Riley. Small format. Pale blue cloth with dark blue titles. Spine slightly bumped with some browning at top and tail. Light crease to front cover. Contents are clean. Price-cut wrapper has a 'new' price label to front flap is edge worn with minimal loss and has a tear to rear panel (no loss). Wrapper is slightly grubby. Not as bad as it sounds!

Spine and corners bumped, rubbed and slightly worn. Foxing to contents. Some slight browning to the plates and tissue-guards. Gilt grammar school stamp to rear cover.

Good condition.
Three volumes. 'A descriptive handbook of all the known species of Rhopalocerous Lepidoptera inhabiting that region, with notices of allied species occurring in the neighbouring countries along the border.' Three-quarter black leather binding. 5 raised bands to spine, red title blocks with gilt title. Burgundy cloth boards. A few colour chromoliths plus monochrome plates. Ex-lib with minmal stamps. Volumes are misnumbered on spines: Volume III contains volume I; Volume II contains volume II (not misnumbered); Volume I contains volume III. Volume III (as marked) spine is split to lower half. Volume I (as marked) has substantial loss to top of spine (still present and placed inside book) but titles block is mostly intact if a little torn at edge. Leather bindings are worn with surface loss and boards exposed in places. Cloth boards are lightly marked. Text blocks and endpapers browned. Contemporary name and date in ink to front endpapers. A few grubby marks to contents but mostly clean. A nice working copy.
