Black cloth with yellow title to spine. 192 pages. Ex-library with W.H. Smith Library label plus remains of another label and ink date stamps to front pastedown. Library address stamps to rear endpapers and last page of text. Spine and corners bumped. Front joint and a couple of hinges cracked. Small inner margin tears to several pages. Page 95/96 partially detached. Some page numbers ringed in blue ink and Browning to rear endpaper. Some light foxing and a few grubby marks but many pages are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped. Foxing to front flap. Slim piece of tape to very edge of flap. Rear panel is a little creased.

Fading to top edges of covers/spine and bottom edge of spine. A few light marks to covers (splash marks?). Name in ink to front endpaper. Foxing and browning to endpapers. Just a few fox spots and an odd mark to contents. Dustwrapper has been laminated on both sides and underneath the edges, spine and half the panels have been covered in tape, now yellowed. Some small patches of surface paper damage to panels and spine.
