Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
The first book ever on the world's largest film animation company and the partnership that created it. Including biographical chapters as well as extensive appendices. Large (and heavy) format. White cloth with gilt title to spine and embossed title on front cover. Colour photos and illustrations. ISBN: 0670829781. Front board grubby and browned, staining to lower edge of boards. Text block a little grubby with minor foxing. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is worn at corners, faded to spine, loss to lower rear edge and remains of previous bookseller's barcoded label.

This the only biography of one of America's greatest and most influential cartoonists, Winsor McCay (1867-1934), the universally acknowledged first master of both the comic strip and the animated cartoon. Although invented by others, both genres were developed into enduring popular art of highest imagination through McCay's innovative genius.
