A personal narrative of life at sea. Attractive blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration, pictorial onlay to front. Colour plates with captioned tissue-guards. Top edge gilt. 415 pages plus 5 page catalogue to rear. Spine and corners bumped and worn with gilt faded to spine. Scuffing of pictorial onlay to front. Light damp(?) stain to edge of rear cover. Name in ink to front endpaper. Bookworm damage(3 small holes) to front joint which is cracked. Some browning and fingering to contents which are generally clean. Embossed "presentation copy" stamp to title-page. 2 tissue guards missing.
