The Childrens Illustrated Classics series. Red boards with black title labels with gilt titles. 4 colour plates plus b/w text illustrations. 248 pages. ISBN: 046005080X. Spine bumped. Large, heavy pencil tick mark partially erased to front free-endpaper else contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge rubbed, slightly chipped and a little grubby.

Spine and corners bumped, rubbing to cover edges. Top edge of textblock slightly grubby else contents fine. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge chipped with slight loss and badly faded to spine.

Floral endpapers. 564 pages. 32 pages of adverts to rear dated August 1880, so this is a reprint edition in same year as first (first had a catalogue dated June 1880). 314 b/w illustrations to text throughout. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Couple of small splits to cloth at top of spine, which is also browned. A few small white 'splash' spots to covers. Foxing and margin marks.
