The growth of Monmouth from the end of the middle ages to the end of the 19th century with particular reference to its influence on the whole county, as a centre of political and cultural life. B/w photos. Red boards, gilt title to spine.

SIGNED by the author to title page (no dedication). Small, minor damp stain to top corner of prelims. Contents otherwise clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly faded at spine, lightly edge-rubbed and slightly scuffed to rear panel.
