Very good condition in a good dustwrapper. A story from the dark winter of A.D. 878, when Danish King Guthrum launched his treacherous attack on the kingdom of Wessex. Orange cloth, black titles and vignettes. 243 pages. B/w illustrations.

Spine and corners bumped, some slight marking to covers. Foxing to endpapers and textblock. Pencil writing to front pastedown and to wrapper flap. Dustwrapper is heavily foxed, grubby and worn at spine and corners with slight loss.
