Contents

  • Only a dozen or so survive of the rare and famous blue "post Office" Mauritius stamps issued in 1847. Sir Hilton Popper, a governor of Greyfriars School, was the fortunate owner of one £2,000 specimen, which after lying peacefully in his album for many years suddenly became involved in a series of most startling adventures, leading to its temporary acquisition by Mr. Slim Judson, not a philatelist, but well-known to the police as a collector of other people's property, while for several days, Billy Bunter the Owl of the Remove, was another not very rightful possessor.
