  • Greta is marooned with her mother and her small brother and sister on the northern end of Chiloe. They find a furnished house but live in fear that the owner will return. Greta finds a chest full of precious ornaments and other things which seem to have been gathered from wrecks. Joey then finds a feeble minded old man wandering on the sands and brings him home thinking he is the owner. But the old man is always talking about George, his son so they decide it must George who is the owner. One day Greta and Joey find a dead man in a cave on a cliff and they discover that this man must have been a professional wrecker. Following many shocks and surprises the mystery of the owner of the house is finally solved.
