Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Pal Szinyei Merse's Picnic in May is probably the most widely known and frequently reproduced of all Hungarian paintings. Maria Bernath seesk to discover the personality of the man as revealed in his journals and letters. Text in French, English and German. Large format. Red cloth boards, gilt titles. Colour illustrations. Light rubbing to board edges. Browning and fly dirt to top edge of text block. Contents otherwise clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly rubbed at edges, creased to top rear edge and lightly scuffed.
