Tracing a significant episode of the early months of World War I. Dark blue boards, gilt title to spine. A few b/w illustrations. ISBN: 0208015043. Vertical edge of rear board and dustwrapper panel bumped. Endpapers grubby. Slight musty odour present. Blue dustwrapper is edge-rubbed with slight chipping, browned and grubby.

Fine condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper.
Red cloth, gilt title to spine. Colour plates. Using 10 works of art, 9 in colour Pomeroy explores the border-lines between disciplines to shed new light on the portraits of Elizabeth I. She combines ideas from cultural anthropology, semiotics, literary theory, social history and the psychology of perception to create a web of meanings and harmonies, centering the paintings of the Queen in a new, complex environment. ISBN: 0208021892. Wrapper is a little browned, with a few marks.
