Some slight rubbing to cover edges. Large vertical tear to rear cover has been repaired with white masking tape. Masking tape reinforcements (not needed) to edges of inside rear cover. There is slight wear to top and tail of spine (evidence of old tape repairs but tape no longer present). Belongs to box clean. Price NOT cut. Page browning else contents clean.

Dustwrapper is edge worn and foxed (visible on flaps and verso) and has a section of loss to base of spine. Spine is also slightly browned.

Otherwise, a lovely copy contained in publisher's slipcase which is bumped at one corner and stained to plain side.

This authoritative and now classic work of reference on the history of British architecture contains biographical information on some 2,000 architects who practiced from the time of Inigo Jones (1573-1650) to that of William Burn (1789-1870) and Sir Charles Barry (1795-1860). Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. 1264 pages including index. ISBN: 0300060912. SIGNED by the author to title page (no dedication). Presented to Dr Ronald Brunskill (an architect and historian) September 1995 and signed by members of English Heritage. Text block a little grubby else contents clean. Front joint between front endpaper and half-title page is pulled but binding is tight. Grey dustwrapper is a little marked.

The Trust helps encourage and publicise the work of practising British silversmiths; silver commissioned and owned by the trust is made available on loan for use in British government buildings and embassies overseas. Blue cloth boards, silver title and vignette to front board. Colour frontis and b/w photos, last page is colour. A scarce book. SIGNED by the Chairman of The Silver Trust to Lord Howe, Deputy Leader of the House of Lords and a Conservative Minister of State for Defence. Boards a little dusty. Contents clean.

After World War Ⅱ, some 8,526 remains were physically unidentifiable and had been buried without any knowledge of the victims' true identities. Likewise following the Korean War there were 846 “Unknowns.” Of this number two were selected for interment at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day 1958. Grey pictorial cardwraps. Stapled binding. B/w photos. vii and 71 pages. Grey covers are lightly browned and have a few marks, 1" thin area of surface paper loss to top front spine edge. Lower corner of covers and contents lightly creased. Contents are clean.
