Corners lightly bumped. Text block browned. A few foxspots present but generally contents are very nice.

At a time of growing challenge from the Roman Church on the one hand and Agnosticism on the other, Anglicans were thrown into confusion by three celebrated controversies - the Gorham case, Essays & Reviews, and the Colenso case. A most readable account of the events which ended in the body of Anglican Bishops openly defying the Privy Council. Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. 128 pages including index. Boards clean, top corners bumped. Text block browned with minor foxing. Neat inscription in ink to front endpaper. A few foxspots to prelims and endpapers.
