HETEROMORPH: THE RAREST FOSSIL AMMONITES; NATURE AT ITS MOST BIZARRE
Written by Wolfgang Grulke.
Stock no. 1830608
Published by At One Communications.
1st
2014.
Slightly better than very good condition.
Ammonites dominated the sea before and during the time of the dinosaurs. Some ammonites were large predators not unlike today's giant squid; others small and delicate. Three times during their reign of more than 300 million years ammonites experimented with the most bizarre and startling shell shapes. Now, new technology is revealing the full beauty of these 'heteromorph' ammonites and they have become some of the most desirable and passionately collected natural objects. This is their story... and how they are becoming a bivrant part of 21st century lifestyles, art and design. Large oblong format. Matt black pictorial boards. Colour photos and illustrations. 224 pages. ISBN: 9780992974008. SIGNED by the author to half-title page. Black boards are a little scuffed. Contents are fine. A rare and unusual book!
