Being a journal written by Charles Burney, Mus.D. during a Tour through those countries undertaken to collectmaterial for A General History of Music. Edited and with an introduction by H. Edmund Poole. Green cloth with maroon title block and gilt text to spine. B/w illustrations. xxix and 245 pages. Text block has very tiny foxspots. Else contents clean. Contained in publisher's slipcase which is lightly worn at ends, one end starting to split, and has a few minor knocks. Musty odour present.

Small piece of loss to top corner of front endpaper. Writing in ink to rear endpapers. A few grubby & age related marks present. All maps present. Some hinges pulled. Overall, a nice working copy.

Red pictorial cloth, black titles. The contents are divided into five sections, four covering the British fighting zones from north to south, the fifth covering the "back-areas". Each of the five sections are preceded by a short survey of the War history of the region as a whole. B/w photos accompanied by a paragraph of information relative to the particular locality. Boards nevenly faded with a few minor stains. Pencil erasure marks to front endpaper give the page a grubby appearance. Front and rear hinge pulled but binding tight.
