Untearable pages, mounted on cotton cloth. Large format. Green cloth with gilt title and pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour illustrations plus multi-colour text and text illustrations. Includes the rhyme "Three Little Kittens" and a story "The Dog's Party". Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers slightly grubby. Endpapers replaced. Inscription in ink to title-page. Title-page and first text page separated at lower corner, some page creases and grubby marks to contents.

Mr Bumstead is a spaniel, with a gift for getting into scrapes. Red boards, blue title and black vignette to spine. B/w illustrations. Spine bumped. Small dark spots to top edge of front cover by corner and outside edge by lower corner. Some light browning to endpapers and prelims. Pen lines to lower corner of page 59, text not affected. Some light foxing to text block with small light stain to top edge. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and chipped with a little loss at top of spine. Tears to side of spine have been repaired on verso with clear tape. Spine is faded, rear panel is browned. Some grubby marks.

Creasing to rear endpaper. Small booksellers sticker to rear pastedown. A few foxspots and a couple of grubby marks otherwise contents are generally clean. Dustwrapper is worn and torn with areas of loss at bottom of spine, top of rear panel and bottom of rear flap. Creasing to both panels and flap. Couple of pen marks at bottom of front flap. Grubby marks to rear panel.

GETTING TO KNOW DOGS

Beautiful colour and b/w illustrations. Light bumping to spine and corners. Name in ink to front endpaper. Some foxing and page browning. Small piece of sticky label to front endpaper, with surface paper damage, where rest has been removed. Wrapper is edge-torn and chipped, with creasing and foxing; some long tears have repairs to verso; loss to a few corners and top of spine.

Some episodes in a Mis-spent Youth. Green pictorial boards with typical Aldin full page illustrations. Covers are edge worn, scuffed with 8 d tape marks across the spine/covers (see photos). Spine covering is chipped with loss. 8 old tape marks across the joints of the books which have browned and affect the prelims and last few pages. There is also sticky fabric reinforcing the joints. Staples are rusty. Joint between frontis and title-page is cracked. Contents are foxed, grubby and lightly browned. Not as bad as it sounds! Still a decent copy.
