Green cloth, gilt title to spine and vignette to front cover with embossed borders. Stories of elves, princesses, dwarfs and fairies. B/w chapter head and tail pieces. Spine and corners a little bumped, corners slightly worn. Small nick to lower edge of front cover. Small split to spine rear edge. Covers clean with gilt still bright. Attractive pictorial bookplate of Dora Allison on front pastedown. Inscription in ink on front endpaper dated December 1869. Some light creasing to pages and some fingermarks. Two pages have circular black marks to them (pages 88 and 120). A bright copy of a scarce early fairy tale book.

Some page edges ragged from uneven opening.
