B/w illustrations within the text. Boards marked and stained, especially volume I. Book plate of Leolyn Louise Everett (contemporary poet) to front pastedowns. Rear joints starting to crack, some hinges pulled. Page xi in volume I detached but present. Contents are clean.

The author seeks to paint a series of pictures, the reflections of scenes and aspects in nature, which in his mind awaken poetic interest, leaving them to do their proper work. Blue cloth boards, gilt title and vignette of mammals to spine, gilt vignette of wolves to front board. Bevelled edges. 12 b/w illustrations. xiv and 344 pages including index. Spine is browned, lightly shelf worn at top & tail, rubbed at sides. Joints pulled but binding is tight. Name and date in ink to title page. A few small foxspots and margin marks present. Generally a very nice copy.

Boards are damp stained, worn/rubbed at corners. Top & tail of spine shelf-worn. Slight lean to contents. Joints cracked, thus frontispiece, half-title and free front endpaper detached. One or two foxspots to contents but generally clean. All plates present. Overall, pretty good for a book almost 200 years old!

A detailed record of a summer holiday spent at Tenby. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. 24 b/w plates with colour. xviii and 400 pages including index. Rebound in blue cloth boards which are heavily affected by damp. New endpapers. Froint inner hinge is split but otherwise the binding is nice and snug. 1" tear to top gutter edge of frontispiece. Damp patch to top margins of plates. All plates are present. Some foxing and grubby marks to contents but generally a decent copy internally.

Not illustrated. Vertical edges of spine worn and frayed. Corners rubbed and worn. A few marks to boards. Joints starting to crack. Endpapers grubby and marked. Browning to page edges and fly leaf. Some evidence of insect damage. Hinges pulled but binding still tight.

Green cloth boards, gilt title to spine, gilt vignette of monkey and boys to front board. 12 b/w illustrations, drawn by Wolf and engraved by Whymper. xiv and 372 pages including index, 4 pages of publisher adverts to rear. First series, second impression. Boards are rubbed, grubby, and edge-worn. Joints cracked and starting to split. Front endpaper removed, to 1.5" of half-title page removed (not affecting the title). Hinges pulled but binding is still holding. A little foxing and a few grubby marks to contents. Plate opposite page 358 (plate XII - The Sea-Serpent) has some red marks and discolouration. A good working copy, sold with all faults.

Vertical board edges are worn, board exposed. Foxing and grubby marks to contents. Some hinges pulled but binding is tight. A good working copy.

Re-backed with original spine laid down. Front pastedown has a couple of small chips, endpapers have a few minor marks. A few margin marks and foxspots. All plates present, colours vivid and bright. One plate has a margin crease. A nice copy considering its age.
