Boards rubbed at corners, top & tail of spine lightly worn. Boards lightly scuffed. 'Boots Chemist' green label to lower edge of front board has surface paper loss from a removal attempt. Text block and page edges browned, half-title heavily browned. Some foxing to text block and margins. All pages and maps present. Remains of a red label to rear endpaper. Pencil inscription to front pastedown.

Name in ink to free front endpaper. Text block browned, top edge of text block dusty. Slight musty odour present. Front hinge of volume II starting to crack but binding tight.
